Do they move at Christmas time at all?
Wed 17 Dec 2014
Are you thinking about moving but tempted to wait until after the New Year? Got enough on in your home to be worried about photos and viewings? Think nobody buys in December so what’s the point? Think again!
In reality, this is a fantastic time of the year to market your property. If you’re serious about selling and you have your finances in place then request a free valuation from Green & Co in December and you can beat the rush, get your property listed online and start to attract interest even before New Year decision makers are having their photos taken.
You might not get a flood of viewings over the Christmas period but that’s not a bad thing, right? The important thing is to consider the exposure your home could generate over the holiday season.
According to Rightmove, there were 500,000 visits to their site on Christmas Day last year and 1.3million on Boxing Day. These figures are expected to rise again this year as even more people open new iPads and tablets on Christmas morning.
And by New Year, the numbers are even bigger. If you wait until January to market your property you will miss out Rightmove’s 1.4million New Year’s Day visitors, and 2.2million on the first working day of the year.
So the message is ‘don’t delay’. Get your property on the market in December and you could be reaping the rewards in January.
