Gearing up for the Games
Thu 07 May 2015
Green & Co has once again pledged its support to the Sutton Coldfield Community Games, which is quickly becoming one of the biggest events in the Royal Sutton Coldfield calendar.
The Games returns for a third time this summer following the success of the 2012 and 2014 events – and with less than 12 weeks to go, Green & Co staff are already on the starting blocks.
Green & Co’s network of residential sales and lettings offices across Sutton Coldfield and Erdington will soon be decorated in Games branding to promote the free event, which will see the return of Green & Co’s popular football challenge that proved such a hit last year.
Buddy the Games Mascot will also be making an appearance in Green & Co branches in the run up to the Games, where local people can donate unwanted sports equipment in support of good causes.
More than 50 sports and activities have now been confirmed for this year’s Games, which are being held at Wyndley Leisure Centre over the weekend of July 11th and 12th.
Chris Green, director at Green & Co, said: “The Sutton Coldfield Community Games is a wonderful initiative, designed to inspire physical activity in our community. Last year an estimated 7,000 people came to try out the 63 different sports and activities on offer – all of which were made available free of charge thanks to a team of volunteers from over 50 different sports clubs, groups and associations. And everybody is working hard to make sure this years’ event is even bigger.
“With offices across Sutton Coldfield, Green & Co really is at the heart of the local community, helping hundreds of local people buy, sell, rent or let their home every month. We already support a number of local sports clubs and associations across the Royal town, and we are proud to be able to extend that passion and enthusiasm for local sport to the Community Games. We hope to see many of our valued customers at Wyndley over the Games weekend.”
