Mandy recently met with an existing client to discuss their moving plans because they had unfortunately decided to go their separate ways. They agreed that Mr should port the existing mortgage to his new house purchase because it made more financial sense to do this for affordability reasons, and Mrs would look to obtain a new mortgage. However, Mr didn't need all of the existing mortgages, and based on the lender's rules, it appeared that this couldn't be done. However, Mandy decided to contact the lender. After a bit of toing and froing, she eventually persuaded the lender to do this, which meant both clients would continue to benefit from the lower rate their original fixed-rate mortgage provided.
