Rightmove reported this week that across the UK, "high demand was outstripping supply and pushing up prices: new seller numbers are 21% down on prior year as owners of family homes delay coming to the market, perhaps due to home-schooling distractions". This also seems to be the case locally, with another 275 potential buyers registered this week to take the total to 651 so far this month. Off the back of last week’s positive result, we had another steady week this week. We registered 210 new potential buyers, arranged 267 viewings and received 53 new offers.   Enquiries from potential sellers picked up too, as did the number of new instructions to the market. This week market appraisal requests increased by 28% compared to the previous three weeks, which is precisely what we needed to satisfy current buyer demand. This week completion numbers increased as buyers and sellers continue to push to ensure that they take advantage of the stamp duty reductions which are due to end in March. The Government is under increasing pressure to extend the deadline, which is scheduled to be debated in parliament on the 1st of February. Will it be extended?
